Personal Statement

I am a Christian, but I don't like praying out loud.

I am a Christian who only goes to church on Easter Sunday.

I am a Christian who doesn't like listening to worship music.

I am a Christian, but I am not going to shove the Bible down your throat.

I am a Christian, and I am a hypocrite.

I am a Christian, and I am not perfect.

I am a Christian, and don't hate other people of other religions.

I am a Christian, and I am a sinner.

I am a Christian and I am proud of that.

Throughout my writing, it may be obvious that I am a Christian.  I've been raised in the United Methodist church, but I don't tie myself down to a denomination.  I believe what I believe and I don't let a denomination create my belief system.

I will never be one of those "Christians."  I will not force you to believe what I believe and I will never judge you for what you believe.  Just because I may not believe in the same things as you, that doesn't mean we can't get along.  People believe in different gods and have different rituals and that's fantastic.  What I'm saying is, is that we can all get along without debating religion.  We can all equally exist is society without having our faith's beaten down by one another.

If you are reading this and don't agree. Good.  I'm glad that you have a firm belief system, but if you're belief system is based on inferiority, than what kind of religion are you representing? Is it even a religion at that point?  Religion should be centered around honoring and worshiping your god(s).  When did it become about us?

Why can't we all live in peace, believing in whatever you want to? Who cares if your neighbor is an atheist or a muslim?  It's not affecting or hurting you in anyway possible.  As long as there is respect and no challenging of any opposing religion, we can all live in peace in harmony.  I'm trying so hard to to sound hippy-like and all about peace and love, but in reality, that's what I'm saying.  What's wrong with respect and keeping quiet.  We don't have to defend our religion to others.  We shouldn't have to at least.

All those protesters on street corners are quite annoying, but as long as you have a strong faith, you really shouldn't give a crap.  Let them live the lives they've chosen.  They have just as firm of a belief as you do.

If you feel you want to say something to promote you religion, no one should stop you. If people are uncomfortable or don't want to hear, leave them alone.  They'll find their way to their own version of salvation.

Basically, whatever religion you are, I'm happy for you.  Just spending time forcing it on others and spend some more time with your god(s).
